Located in the heart of the central valley the Fresno CAP Composite Squadron, is comprised of both Senior members (adults) and Cadets, and serves Central California and the rest of the state and nation.
The purpose of the Civil Air Patrol is threefold: Emergency Services, Cadets programs and Aerospace Education. As the primary agency charged with search & rescue of downed and missing aircraft, the Civil Air Patrol also performs a host of other functions in our nation’s defense and security.
Whether it is working with the United States Air Force in testing the Western Air Defense System (WADS) or simply providing cadet orientation flights, the Civil Air Patrol operates the largest fleet of Cessna aircraft in the world and is ready to respond at a moments notice. Although CAP members wear a uniform similar to the U.S. Air Force, and the Civil Air Patrol is part of the Air Force's "Total Force", members are not part of the Armed Forces and CAP remains a non-profit 501c3 organization.
