Squadron 112 places a significant emphasis on developing Civil Air Patrol cadets. Cadets range in age from twelve to twenty one years old and have the option of joining the adult ranks at the age of eighteen. Cadets follow an eighteen step program where they work to meet various leadership, academic and fitness criteria. Cadets begin at the grade of Cadet Airman and can promote as high as Cadet Colonel. The entire program can be completed in as little as 36 months. While cadets are not obligated to future military service, many go on to successful careers as military officers. In the past several years, Squadron 112 cadets have been accepted to the United States Air Force Academy, United States Naval Academy, West Point and leading universities around the country. Interested youth are encouraged to attend a weekly Civil Air Patrol meeting and parents are always welcome.
